Comments: I've been a member of this club for a long time (albeit a generally quiet one), and I love that the people are so diverse and consequently the topics are quite varied. I also like that everyone has a vested interest in educating others on the list about things that are important to them. I've been turned on to many a new author and interest through the club. Thank you all!

What is your favorite LJS book? TSC1: The Initiation, TSC2: The Captive, TSC3: The Power
Why is this your favorite book? I wouldnt be who I am today. Because of her books, TSC in particular, I am a geologist, I found my boyfriend, and I've never stopped looking for my adventure. Even when things are at their most dreary, her books have always given me hope that there's so much out there to reach for.
Why do you like LJS? Her books are so exciting, so adventerous. Her writing is so fast paced--I can go through a trilogy in a day. And I love her way of describing things, how she puts so much detail into everything--Mary-Lynnette's love of astronomy, Hannah and her past, the way she talks about minerals (there's the geologist in me), how she makes the place a book is set in come alive. And her characters, I feel as though they're real, that I could point them out in the street. Her books, her writing, feel so real, I can almost hear them breathing.
What is your favorite book overall (of every author)? A Wrinkle in Time
What character(s) did you identify with? Cassie--I understood her desire for something new and exciting, her doubts about herself, and her desire to fit in. And Mary-Lynnette, who's always trying to reach for something she cant explain. Her love of astronomy mirrors my love of geology.
What character(s) did you fall in love with? Ash--how can you not love someone so determined to change? And Gabriel--he's also a typical LJS bad boy, but with a fierce tenderness I find incredible. The really good guys just arent as fun.
What character(s) did you admire/want to be like? Rashel. I wish I could be that tough and focused. And Maggie Neely. I'd love to have a heart of gold and the courage to go with it.
What is your goal in life? Do something important, whether it be for science or some other way that helps humanity. And to try to find some peace in my life.
Comments: I've been a fan of LJS ever since I was 12--that's about 11 years now. I've never felt the need to join one of these groups until now. Maybe because I have finally achieved my dream of becoming a geologist, and finding it so much harder than I ever expected. Maybe because of the excitement waiting for the last NW book. Or maybe because I'm still looking for that excitement and adventure I'd always hoped was out there. Thanks for starting this site up. It's nice to know there's other people out there who can identify with this part of me.
